PALM BEACH BOOK
DESCRIPTION
In the early 1900s, former oil baron Henry Morrison Flagler became interested in the South Florida coast and began developing an exclusive resort community. Establishing a railroad that would allow easier access to the area, he then built two hotels – his hope was that early American families would come to populate the area. This modest community would later become an iconic American destination, hosting British royalty, American movie stars and becoming home to some of the country's biggest families. As the century progressed, Palm Beach established itself as a luxury retreat synonymous with old-world glamor and new-world sophistication.
In this magnificent volume, longtime Palm Beach resident and socialite Aerin Lauder takes us through her Palm Beach. From favorite restaurants like Nandos and Renatos to favorite houses like La Follia and Villa Artemis, she takes us to the elite boutiques of Worth Avenue and the scenic walkways of the Lake Worth Trail, all while telling us the stories, the faces and places that are so identified with Palm Beach.
