GHŌUD was born in 2017 on the left bank of the Brenta, the old river route to Venice. Its headquarters is a 17th-century villa that once housed a shoe factory.

The name comes from the Flemish word goud, meaning gold, a nod to Venice's cultural exchanges. The brand describes itself as a fashion house that expresses itself through shoes: few logos, lots of material.
